Sometimes an image tells the entire story. This one does. Hundreds of tiny ice sculptures of faceless men figurines sit quietly together, next one another, on stairs all around the world. It’s the work of Brazilian street artist Nele Azevedo .
What time better than the start of a new year to share with you the ‘colours’ that made it to the hitless of two word players in the field of color. Pantone presented the colour Marsala (pantone 18-1438), a naturally robust, dramatic, luxurious warm and earthy wine red that enriches our mind, body and soul (in these hard and cold times we live in) as thé colour of 2015. Marsala got it’s name from the fortified, tasteful and rich wine grounded in red-brown roots with a sophisticated, natural earthiness. Marsala combines perfectly with grey tones, sunny gold shades and taupe but also surprisingly well with today’s still very popular pastel shades.
It’s not much, but it’s a start. That’s what I thought, reading an article in The Huffington Post on ‘30 good things that happened to woman last year’. I scrolled trough, most of if was common known (another good sign), but one story or call it news fact made it to todays ‚image of the day’.
Cube courthouse — Shinichi Ogawa & Associates I always loved the idea of posting one image per day, just to make at the end of year a great booklet with 365 striking, inspirational, emotional images that caught my attention, one way or another. I’m sure it will be a great compilation, a personal selection, a curated album that underneath the images reflects trends that live in contemporary culture. In my The Squid Stories blog I have such a section, and once in a while I do use it, but not enough and certainly not enough to achieve my ‘booklet’ idea…. So, is the end of a year not thé moment to set yourself some goals, and keep them in the following year?
