Advanced style, Flat age fashionista’s on ageless style.

I rarely talk about a movie on this blog magazine. Not that I don’t like movies, I adore good cinema, but I think they have enough coverage by other media, that I don’t have to bother you with an extra, very personal opinion. But, if one make’s it to the ‘content-to-absolutely-post’ list, I think it’s worth it. Well, this one did.

photo by will ragozzino   Ah! The lovely (because a little bit mad)Yayoi Kusama exhibits brain manipulating infinity rooms and twenty-seven new large-scale dotted paintings at her monumental 2013 solo exhibition at the David Zwirner Gallery in NY. Once you saw or even better heard her in one of her video’s, you’ll never forget her. Her high but almost whispering monotone voice, sounds like she’s in another dimension, as she probably is. Her work is, without any exception live even more hypnotizing than on picture.  Video with the artist, produced on the occasion of the 2011-2012 traveling retrospective organized by Tate Modern, London.  Exhibit Yayoi Kusama,’I who have arrived in heaven’ at David Zwirner, NY Hurry up: exhibition doesn’t last long! November 8th – December 21st, 2013. Enjoy!

This stricking and very fun statement is calles “The Sirens of the Lambs” and is to be seen near the Meatpacking District.(Off course!!) Banksy’s slaughterhouse delivery truck tours first the meatpacking district and then citywide for the next two weeks. And please, keep in looking! Banksy, who’s works is normally not for sale or only at sky high gallery pricing, is stunting the entire month. Imagine this: The day before yesterday he set up an art stall in the park selling 100% authentic original signed Banksy canvases. For $60 each. An old man set up the stall, and the first sale was done only at 3PM in the afternoon!! The stall closed …

From Station to Station_a life inspiration story

Over the course of three weeks in September 2013, a train traveled from New York City to San Francisco, making nine stops at train stations across the country. So to hear, nothing spectacular, but what if this train contained work of leading figures and underground creators from the worlds of art, music, food, literature, and film for a series of cultural interventions and site-specific happenings? The train, designed as a moving, kinetic light sculpture, broadcasted unique content and experiences to a global audience. The name of this project? Station to station. The initiator? Artist Doug Aitken and made possible by Levi’s.   ©Station to Station art project by Doug Aitken and Levi’s. ©Station to Station art project by Doug Aitken and Levi’s.
