And please, keep in looking! Banksy, who’s works is normally not for sale or only at sky high gallery pricing, is stunting the entire month. Imagine this: The day before yesterday he set up an art stall in the park selling 100% authentic original signed Banksy canvases. For $60 each.
An old man set up the stall, and the first sale was done only at 3PM in the afternoon!! The stall closed at 6 PM, more than half of the work was wrapped and went back to the artist. How much the few ‘lucky bastards who walked by and saw the hand of the master’ spent? 420 USD. Arghhhh!!!!
Please note: This was a one off. The stall was gone the next day 🙂
Check out the hilarious movie.
This month, every day, Banksy leaves another trace in his city: a food truck transformed in a tropical 3 dimensional garden, small but o so delicate wall paintings on a concrete wall, or just a sprayed tag with a statement text…Small or big, his work is always strong and delicate, or shall we say poetic at the same time.
Near each work, there’s always a code, a number. Why? Just to enhance the viewer’s enjoyment of the exhibits an audio guide is provided via cell phone. Simply call the number next to the painting and select the appropriate option on the keypad. (Banksy is a street guy, so it’s a toll free service. Nice.
