Tried & enjoyed: Wine bar ‘Bedales Wines’ London.

During my last trip to London (we were shooting a food trend video for a client), one of the film locations was Borough Market. This gourmet food market – up to 70 stalls and stands – brings producers/farmers from all over the country offering a range of fresh products including fish, meats, vegetables, ciders, cheeses, breads, coffees, cakes and patisseries. Located right next to the London Bridge, this cosy, crowded spot is a haven for anybody who cares about the quality and provenance of the food they eat – chefs, restaurateurs, passionate amateur cooks and people who just happen to love eating and drinking.

An Instagram look back at 2014, part 1 FOOD.

Peas with goat cheese snow at Souvenir in Ieper. 2015 has kicked off, but it happens these days that I think back about the things that were great last year. What better than have a scroll trough all my Instagram posts of 2014 and take a trip trough memory lane…. I must admit, looking at these moments, it was a good year. Why not share the best of my Instagram memories? I went trough all the great trips I made last year, the restaurants I visited, the wonderful work collaborations and the unforgettable art shows and exhibitions I went to. Here they are. It’s a selection, a best of.

The Squid Stories image of the day #8.

Only 100 people had been invited to the show (editors and friends of the designer: photographer Nick Knight, Alber Elbaz (Lanvin), Kate Moss and Jamie Hince (The Kills), colleagues Manolo Blahnik and Christopher Bailey and one of his biggest fans Anna Wintour.  The occasion? The long expected return of fashion ‚enfant terrible’ John Galliano for Maison Margiela. Galliano was not the obvious, minimal media-avoiding successor of Martin, but as I said when the news was announced a year ago: it was going to be controversial. Or a complete failure, or a bomb.
