During my last trip to London (we were shooting a food trend video for a client), one of the film locations was Borough Market. This gourmet food market – up to 70 stalls and stands – brings producers/farmers from all over the country offering a range of fresh products including fish, meats, vegetables, ciders, cheeses, breads, coffees, cakes and patisseries. Located right next to the London Bridge, this cosy, crowded spot is a haven for anybody who cares about the quality and provenance of the food they eat – chefs, restaurateurs, passionate amateur cooks and people who just happen to love eating and drinking.
After a long day of shooting we looked for a place to have a drink and a small bite, and that’s were we discovered Bedales Wines.
Bedales is a wine shop, a wine bar where they serve artisan food and small but delicious tastings. Exactly what we needed after a long day work. It’s gets crowded but never too much. It’s a place were friends and colleagues meet after work, to have a chat with a glass of wine.
The wines selection and quality (some by the glass) is excellent en surprising. If you have a little food craving, just share some plates with your friends. We had toasted organic bread with delicious smoked salmon ‘rillettes’, Spanish Pata Negra with fresh capers, or cauliflower gratin with French cheese. Comfort food as we like it, simple, laid back and friendly.
