I rarely talk about a movie on this blog magazine. Not that I don’t like movies, I adore good cinema, but I think they have enough coverage by other media, that I don’t have to bother you with an extra, very personal opinion. But, if one make’s it to the ‘content-to-absolutely-post’ list, I think it’s worth it. Well, this one did.

  Street art is one of my weak points when it comes to art love. Maybe because strong street art has that rough edge I like so much, or has the tattoo scene something to do with it? Street artists often mix complex stories with a message about the modern world as they travel it in a non-conformistic way at night. I don’t know, the fact is when Banksy, Roa, or let’s say Martin Ron hit the streets with recent work, they get my attention straight away.

Stella McCartney for Breast Cancer Awareness Month

They always say that when you experience from close by a traumatic event, you care more about what happens to others. Well, the fact that the very down-to-earth Stella McCartney supports this month’s breast cancer awareness mouvement, is a living proof of this. Stella lost her mother Linda McCartney due to this terrible disease.

Last weekend I was in London with my daughter Maui and I absolutely wanted to visit The Beauty Project at London’s trendiest megastore Selfridges. The Beauty Project is a mind-provoking and multi layered exploration of the definition of beauty and what it means in today’s society.  The first thing you notice is a total takeover of the store’s famous window displays. Statements are made about ‘letting your hair grow’, thoughts on science versus nature, ‘ eat yourself beautiful food, an open window fragrance lab and questions about what is beauty (and what not) Un-retouched images of unknown faces will appear all over London in a new campaign shot by Norbert Schoerner, whilst debates in the store’s ‘Salon’ focus upon challenging topics such as The History of Beauty and Ugliness and the relationship between beauty and youth. The point of The Beauty Project is to define many versions of beauty: mature ladies, colored girls, pink hair or all over tattoos. The idea is that when we have a wider range of ideals to look at, so women can feel better …
