They always say that when you experience from close by a traumatic event, you care more about what happens to others. Well, the fact that the very down-to-earth Stella McCartney supports this month’s breast cancer awareness mouvement, is a living proof of this. Stella lost her mother Linda McCartney due to this terrible disease.

Stella McCartney designed a line of her Gemma Relaxing lingerie (prices between $40 to $80) in hot pink in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October. Her friend and topmodel Kate Moss wears one of the Gemma bra’s , one very well placed pink ribbon on her nipple. Fashion photographers (and again good friends of Stella) Mert & Marcus shot the images for the campaign. “There are so many women affected by this terrible disease and even more people affected by the loss of the incredible women in their lives,” said McCartney. “There are preventive ways that can help; having knowledge of your body, maintenance and upkeep. Raising awareness on breast cancer is critical…I wanted to remind women that when they wear this set, the first thing they put on in the morning, to keep on top of their health and visit a doctor regularly.”

STELLA’S PUSH UP FOR PINK range will raise money for the Linda McCartney Centre in Liverpool, England, specifically to fund a new mammography suite at the center, established in 2000.

Because we all care, this image of Kate became my first blogpost of my new blog and turned ‘image of the day’. Stella, an inspirational woman for sure, and maybe if we all buy one of those damn sexy pink bra’s, we could make this world a little bit better…in many ways.
